The terminal is an innovative mobile device designed for retail self-service shops. Customers independently identify the items purchased by scanning bar codes. This innovation allows to reduce waiting times at checkouts, check prices, locate the items on promotion, and know at any time to the amount of spending and more by using a simple and intuitive interface of the terminal.
VisualStore POS application is executed directly into the mobile terminals. The mobile terminals have Wi-Fi wireless technology.
The display layout of the mobile terminal is configured via Touch Screen Maintenance tool of VisualStore, as for the other POS terminals.
The keyboard of Motorola terminals has 6 buttons disposed on 2 lines of 3 buttons:


Payment
Customers are asked to check and confirm their shopping list. The self-scanning transaction is transferred to a cash register and is typically payed by electronic payment (EFT) or by cash.

Handout Stations:
are the nodes where customers can read their loyalty card in order to unlock a mobile terminal and start shopping.

Handback cradle
There are 2 types of Handback terminals:
Connected or not connected to a Pay station, they are cradles where a customer can put back his mobile terminal before to go to pay his shop to a cash register or pay station using his loyalty card.

Mobile gateway:
Are nodes which act as servers for the mobile terminals. They collect synchronization data for the mobile terminals and act as bridges for the communication between mobile terminals and the other nodes of the store.

Acest terminal este un dispozitiv mobil inovator, creat pentru magazinele de tip autoservire. Clientii scaneaza singuri produsele. Aceasta inovatie reduce timpul de asteptare pentru plata, verifica preturile, identifica produsele aflate la oferta, confera controlul asupra sumei cheltuite si ofera alte informatii utile, datorita interfetei prietenoase si intuitive.
 
Aplicatia VisualStore este instalata pe terminalele mobile Motorola MC17/MC17T, cu procesoare ARM v4, pe platforma mobila Windows CE. Terminalele mobile au tehnologie cu retea Wi-Fi. Ecranele aplicatiei care ruleaza pe terminalele mobile, sunt usor de configurat, cu ajutorul aplicatiei Touch Screen Maintenance din VisualStore. Configurarea se realizeaza in mod asemanator ca si pentru terminalele POS standard. 
 
 
 
Tastatura terminalelor mobile Motorola contine 6 butoane dispuse in 2 linii a cate 3 butoane: 
 
Plata
Clientii sunt rugati sa verifice si sa confirme lista de cumparaturi. Tranzactia scanata automat este transmisa catre un POS si poate fi achitata cu cardul (EFT) sau cash.
 
Componente Self Scan :
 
Terminale Asistent Terminale mobile Motorola MC17/MC17T cu platforma mobila Windows CE.
 
Statii de ridicare terminal: sunt folosite pentru verificarea punctelor de loialitate aferente unui client sau pentru deblocarea unui Terminal Asistent si a incepe cumparaturile.Se ridica terminalul doar pe baza cardului de fidelitate.
 
Statie de returnare terminal: Exista doua tipuri de statii de returnare a Terminalelor Asistent: conectate sau neconectate la o statie de plata. Acestea sunt statii de returnare, in care se pot inapoia Terminalele Asistent, inainte de a efectua plata la POS sau la statiile de plata, folosind cardul de loialitate.
 
Puncte de acces:  Reprezinta noduri care actioneaza ca servere pentru terminalele mobile. Colecteaza date de sincronizare pentru terminale mobile si actioneaza ca punti de comunicare între terminalele mobile si alte noduri ale magazinului.
